The high quality of the films and the excellent turnout of the Festival, have consolidated the BILBAO Fantasy Film Festival as a reference.

This festival features the latest fantasy films that compete for the prize for best feature film of the Official Section. The short films are other highlight of the festival and compete for the Best Short Film, Best Short Basque Film, and for the Audience Award.

The programme is complemented with classic movies, documentaries, children’s sessions and thematic seasons. Moreover, the Festival annually awards leading figures of the genre with the Fantrobia Award and welcomes many other guest artists.

The FANT Festival has become bigger in the films presented and in audience, since recent editions have had record figures, with over 5,000 spectators and more than 400 feature and short films submitted. The internationalisation of the festival is now a reality, as the Festival receives productions from many countries, such as Canada, Germany, France, Switzerland, Turkey, Australia, UAE, South Korea, Iraq, Iran, Egypt, Cyprus, UK, Macedonia received, Nepal, USA, Argentina, Taiwan …

Apart from the Opening and Closing events, the Festival has different areas, the Official and Short FANT Film sections, Basque Short FANT Films, FANTasy Panorama and the FANT Masters one -tribute section to genre masters-.
